What am I sign­ing up for?
This mail­ing list is only used to send a reminder that a new magazine is avail­able.
This hap­pens once per term, in the first week.

What am I not sign­ing up for?
Spam.
If you are like us, you can’t stand spam, so simply put, we don’t send it.
Sometimes, because we send so many emails to so many people, it can be incor­rectly classed as spam, so, make sure that you check your junk mail folder now and then, and add us to your safe senders list.

Mailing list his­tory
We used to have a manual pro­cess, you sent us your details, we added you to the list. We had to change that for 2 reasons.

1. it was not secure.
2. it took ages to add everyone.

So we moved onto a mail­ing list server applic­a­tion that we ran as part of the Good Teacher web­site. We moved on from that as it was not doing what I wanted it to, and was not ter­ribly easy to use. Also I think that some of the mes­sages were not being sent.

Now we have moved to a Google Group. By set­ting this up, we hope to ‘tick all the boxes’ for what we need.
If it doesn’t work, then I guess we’ll try some­thing else.

How do I sign up?
You need to have a Google Account in order to sign up for this ser­vice.
If you don’t already have one, then you should get one, because it gives you access to many fea­tures that Google has to offer. It’s free, and you can use your own email address(you do not have to use a Google(Gmail) address. If you don’t want a Google account, see below.
Follow the link below and it will take you to a page to sign in/register for Google, or (if you are already signed in) straight to our page.

Click the link to ‘Join this group’ and you are almost done.
This next page is import­ant!
You should select one of the options that allow you to get email.
(so, not the 1^st option that says “no email’) what’s the point of join­ing an email list, then ask­ing for no email?
The Nickname is not import­ant, as no one else will see who you are, only the Good Teacher Team.
Click the Join this group Button.

You may receive an email from Google ask­ing you to con­firm your request.
Follow the instruc­tions, and that’s it, you are done.
